The outcry
against Chinese cheap labor has been raised in Sydney, New South
Wales. The trades and labor organizations have protested against
further Chinese immigration. A petition has been presented to the
Mayor asking him to call a public meeting to take steps to check the
influx, and the Premier has telegraphed to the British authorities
in China for information as to the cause of the unusual tide of
immigration to Australia. |
